The Best Road Trip Apps To Download Now

If you’ve been following along with our blogs lately, you’ll know that we’re big fans of winter camping. There’s no “perfect” season to hit the road in your rig, since each one has its own charms and unique things to do.

With that being said, whether you’re waiting for the weather to warm up, or you’re still trying to squeeze in a winter camping adventure, every avid RVer and camper could use a little help along the way.

RVing doesn’t mean you have to go “off the grid.” Check out some of these innovative apps that can help you on your next excursion, whether it’s next weekend, or when summer finally rolls in.

Packing List Checklist

The Packing List Checklist app is perfect for any RV road trip, especially if you’re bringing the whole family along. The best part about this app is that you don’t necessarily need to remember every little thing to add to a list. Instead, it reminds you of what you should be bringing by breaking down popular essentials into different categories.

Of course, you do have the option of creating your own custom list, so you can add all of the kids’ belongings, and even assign emojis to different items. It’s a fun and unique way to make sure you don’t forget anything important on the road.

Gas Buddy

Gas Buddy isn’t a new app. In fact, it’s one of the original helpers for campers and road trippers alike. But, it’s always worth mentioning in lists like these because it’s just as relevant and helpful as ever.

No RVer wants to run out of gas, but, when you’re on a budget you might also not want to stop at the nearest station when they’re overcharging at the pump. With Gas Buddy, you don’t have to worry about that. It shows you the nearest gas stations no matter where you are, as well as current prices for those stations.

If you’re loyal to a particular brand, you can also set filters on your search to only seek out specific stations.

First Aid by The American Red Cross

You never know what might happen on the road or when you’re visiting a campsite. Your RV should already have a well-stocked first aid kit in it at all times. But, if you need a little extra help, the First Aid app by the American Red Cross can give you all the information you need to assist with illness or injury.

You can check out the app at any time to prepare yourself for emergency situations. There are quizzes you can take to make sure you know what to do if someone gets hurt. If, by chance, someone in your party does need medical attention, the app can walk you through exactly what to do to help them. It can be hard to keep calm and know what to do when someone you care about is hurt, so having the app on hand is a great way to remain focused and have a step-by-step guide at your side.

There are so many useful and fun apps specifically designed with RVers and campers in mind. We’ll undoubtedly feature more apps like these in the future. In the meantime, be sure to download these RVing apps onto your phone before your next adventure, and you’ll be more prepared than ever.
