Stainless steel is one of those things that many people often take for granted. It’s an amazing material; durable, clean, attractive. It can be that spark you need to make your kitchen shine. With so many places that sell countertops, I’m glad you’ve found us here. Our stainless steel countertops, 1 ¼” tall and .1209 gauge, comes in custom lengths so that you can get a length perfect for your counter needs while not costing you an arm and a leg.
Stainless Steel
So many wonderful things are made of stainless steel; swing sets, slides, screws, medical equipment, kitchen tools, and much much more. There are tons of reasons why stainless steel is so amazing, but for now, let’s stick to its durability, sanitation, appearance, and its low carbon footprint.
Durability
Stainless steel is resistant to water, heat, stains, and just about anything else. Did your sink overflow and you’re worried about what it’ll do to the countertop? Well, you can worry no more if you have stainless steel. Or maybe you just finished cooking a pot of your grandmother’s secret recipe chili but you forgot to pack hot pads? With stainless steel, you can just set it on the counter- it won’t hurt it. It’ll heat up the area where the pot is, sure, but that heat won’t damage the countertop or spread to the rest of the counter space. It’ll also stay cold in the hot summer months (we won’t judge you if you take a nap on it in the warmth of July). What if you have kids that love to practice their artistic talents any chance they can get? No worries there- it’ll just wash right off. This virtually indestructible metal is a surefire way to keep your kitchen lasting a long while, no matter your cooking ability. While wooden or granite countertops may be cheaper than stainless steel, the cost pays off in the end, as the long life of the stainless steel countertop will pay for itself.
Sanitation
The benefits don’t stop there, though. Whether you cook for the masses, cook for a family, or cook for yourself, you understand that cleanliness is important when it comes to food. Germs, bacteria, and mold can be a serious threat to your health if you are not conscious about avoiding them. Luckily, stainless steel has a non-porous material. What does that mean? It means that no matter what kinds of liquids get on your counter, they won’t penetrate the metal. This means, as long as you practice regular cleaning habits, your countertop will be a completely hygienic surface for preparing meals, free from bacteria, mold, and stains. Unlike wooden countertops that can trap mold, bacteria, and stains, stainless steel doesn’t give those uninvited guests any room to stay.
Aesthetics
The shiny, attractive look of stainless steel is perfect for contemporary kitchens while being neutral enough to still fit in with more traditional styles. Visually appealing and creating an elegant look, stainless steel also has the added benefit of making a small space look larger. With the proper lighting, you can visually increase your space with the shiny, reflective surfaces. With this polished surface, the stainless steel also picks up the color temperature of its surroundings, matching the warmth or coolness of your current color scheme. Just make sure not to use any harsh abrasives, like the scrubby sides of sponges to clean it and you should have a shiny surface to reflect your style.
Though stainless steel is virtually indestructible, it can be dented sometimes. But that’s why our countertops are set over a wooden frame. The frame helps to minimize dings and dents by providing additional support to the countertop. It also helps make the installation process easier. Unlike granite, butcher block, or concrete countertops, stainless steel doesn’t need a sealing process. This means you can get your countertop in faster and get back to enjoying your kitchen.
Recyclable
As an added bonus, stainless steel is recyclable. Do you care about the Earth and want to invest in something that can help you do that? Did you know that your countertop can be as environmentally friendly as you are? Stainless steel is here for that. Keeping your carbon footprint minimal, using stainless steel is a great way to be environmentally friendly while still having the countertop you need.
