Dinettes are pretty nice. They can be used as a table and booths or as a bed and are easy to transition between the two. The space-saving design is perfect for smaller RVs or those that need a bit more room to move around in. And when you're moving around the RV, you won't have to worry about free standing tables and chairs moving about and causing trouble. But what happens when the cushions themselves wear out? With our dinette cushions, you can get your booths and bed combo in good shape again.
Dinettes are a great way to add versatility to your rig. The booths and table can transition into a bed, adding extra sleeping space when you need it and giving you a table and eating area when it's meal time. If you don't have as much space, having a convertible dinette table and booths can lead to space-savings and if you're not intending to use the bed very often (such as if you only use it when you have guests over), you won't have to worry about taking up space when it's not needed.
Fabric
The fabric selection is versatile, with many colors and different materials to choose from. First, we have our Suprima leather fabric. It's a soft, durable, and easy to clean fabric with a polyurethane construction. It's water-resistant, lightweight, flexible, and more durable against daily RV life than all natural leather. The fabric material is soft and stitched and because of the composition, doesn't need a plasticizer. This means it will stay soft without cracking or peeling longer than your typical faux leather fabric.
We also have our Cloth fabric, which is perfect for RV life as well. Our cloth line is super durable, made of sturdy thread with a polyurethane backing, allowing it to be lightweight, flexible, and water resistant while keeping a soft feel. The surface is soft and the stitches are high-quality. It's perfect for warmer weather due to the heat-resistance and breathable nature of the fabric. It's super durable and comfortable and the maintenance and care is lower than that of other fabrics.
The construction of our dinettes and cushions is great for RV living. From the solid backing to the comfortable foam cushioning to the terrific fabric, these cushions are able to withstand the life that RV living gives it. It's able to withstand years of use and if you're concerned about how it will stand up to your specific RV life, then don't worry; there's a great warranty attached.
Common dinette problems and how to fix them
There are three main problems that come with having a dinette. First, you have the appearance. Many brands have styles that are outdated or just don't fit with your RV's interior design scheme. If you're not loving the styles and colors available, you can reupholster them or create covers to slip over them. We have fabric available on our site if you are looking for a great fabric to use to create these DIY projects.
Another problem is that the wooden sections of the booths are uncomfortable. A common solution to this problem is to cover these areas with a thin layer of foam padding and fabric cover, similar to reupholstering the cushion itself. This added padding will add more support and comfort to these hard and uncomfortable places on your dinette set.
Finally, we have the problem of slippage. Because the cushions on the dinette are free-floating, they are prone to slipping. To fix this, you can use a hook and eye strip fixture similar to those that come on our dinette sets. You can also use a non-slip matt, fixed to the wooden base of the booth and to the cushion itself. While these will keep your cushions from sliding all over the place, you will still retain the ability to move them around if needed.
