Each piece of modular furniture has either a male or a female connector on the bottom. If it is a reclining piece then it has a black rail at the bottom. If it is a non-reclining console then it has two silver pieces on either side at the same height. To attach the pieces to each other, simply insert the knobs on one side of the piece into the slots on the side of the joining piece. Once they are in place, they will stay together through this knob-and-slot design.
