Coatings
Coatings are a layer applied to the surface of items called substrates for decoration, function, or both. The coatings may cover some or all of the substrate. Lacquers and Paints are good examples of coatings that serve a dual purpose of protecting and as decorating a surface.
Functional coatings may be applied to change the surface properties of the substrate, such as adding adhesion or resistance to weather, corrosion, or wear. They can be applied in solid, liquid, or gas form using a variety of tools to maintain a controlled thickness.
Sealants
Sealants, on the other hand, are intended to provide a barrier blocking the passage of fluids through the surface of a material. They can be used to cover a surface or fill holes and gaps and can provide thermal and acoustical insulation, keep water out, or serve as fire barriers. Caulking sealants usually have three basic functions: they can fill gaps between two or more substrates; they can form barriers through the physical properties of the sealants themselves by adhesion to the substrate; they maintain sealing properties for the expected lifetime service conditions and environments.
In construction, sealants are used to seal expansion joints, cracks, joints in concrete roads and to fill gaps between concrete. But no matter the job required of them, they should be applied properly to achieve full performance from your sealant.

I can be used for bonding foam, fabric, wood, certain plastics, glass, cardboard, metal, and other substrates and can withstand a very high heat range.
