Many years ago, RV manufacturers decided to use insert fittings and crimp rings to secure connections in the plumbing system of RVs. This solution solved problems but created new ones. Flair-it pipe fittings are a revolutionary product that solves the woes of classic RV plumbing. When RV manufacturers switched the brass tubing and fittings to PEX tubing and gray tubing, plastic insert tubing, and copper crimp rings, they were solving the problems of flexibility and ease of use. They were adding the problems of cracking, leaking, and extra tools into the mix, though. Even though the PEX tubing and gray "Quest" tubing were of good quality, the crimp rings needed to be applied with the right tool to ensure a proper fit. Many times, this fit was simply not achieved. These tighten-to-compress fittings solve these problems by not needing crimp rings or tools to install them. Made of durable plastic, they won't crack under the pressure of the crimp ring (because there is none) and will create a bond that withstands up to 90 pounds of pressure and doesn't leak, no plumber's tape needed. These PEX fittings and gray tube fittings are not specific towards either of these pipes but fit both of them with equal quality. Having a tool-less application, they don't require seven hands to get a good connection. If you would like a tool to help the process along, we do have wrenches available.
