The Best Apps for the Best Trips

When you think about heading out on a trip, downloading apps may not come up first on your list of priorities. But with these useful apps that can help you out on the road, you might want to reconsider. These apps are designed to save time, money, and a lot of frustrations that can come up unexpectedly.

There’s an app for everything nowadays - but we promise, these are far more useful than the hours you’ve spent playing Pokemon G.

Roadtrippers

It doesn’t get much better than this all-in-one app for hitting the road. Whether you’re planning a big summer trip, or touring the country in your RV, this singular app can provide a lot of different solutions for you.

Not only does the Roadtrippers app allow you to fully plan out your route ahead of time, but it also allows you to plan for food stops, bathroom breaks, and more. Plus, it will show you some pretty great stops along the way, and tell you what people are saying about them.

Gas Buddy

This app probably needs no explanation, but that doesn’t mean it’s not worth mentioning. GasBuddy is an incredibly useful tool when you’re taking a long trip. It showcases over 50 million gas stations across the company. No matter where you are, it will show you the cheapest gas prices where you currently are, and along your route. Saving a few cents here and there can really start to add up, and this app makes it easy.

It also comes in handy if it's an emergency situation or maybe you just need to stop somewhere and grab some snacks for the road. A lot of road trippers are used to driving and having no stops around them for miles. Prepare before you leave and GasBuddy will be your best friend.

RV Parky

If you’re headed out on a camping adventure, RV Parky should be your new best friend. It was actually designed by a man who lives in his RV full time (that’s how you know it’s good!). This app features over 25,000 listings of different campgrounds across the country. You can also read reviews from other users to see what they have to say about specific sites.

Spotify

If you haven’t yet heard of Spotify, it’s not a bad idea to download it right now - especially if you’re a music lover. But, if you’re headed out on a road trip, you should absolutely download this music streaming service for the best road tunes you’ll ever find, all in one place. With Spotify, you can create your own custom playlists, or use curated playlists designed by the service that can feed your mood, activity, or even the weather.

Geocaching

Bring out the fun and adventure with this app. Geocaching is a real life treasure hunting game that enables your phones GPS. Users navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates on the app, they then have to search for the 'geocache' or container hidden at that location. There's only one rule, if you take something from a geocache, you must then replace it with some of equal or greater value. This game is fun for the whole family and it's always a surprise!
