Exploring The Florida Keys: 5 Incredible Places You Need to Experience
In the depths of such a cold winter, it’s easy to start daydreaming about being somewhere a little more hospitable. Though they begin just a few miles south of Miami, the Keys are a whole new world just waiting to be explored. #1. Islamorada
comprised of six tiny islands, Islamorada has plenty to explore! Known as the sportfishing capital of the world, the “Village of Islands” should be on the bucket list of any fishing enthusiast. Islamorada is also home to the Diving History Museum, so be sure to make time to stop by.
#2. Key Largo
Welcome to the home of two state parks, a national park and a national marine sanctuary. Key Largo can also brag about having some of the most fascinating botanical scenery in the state. Scuba diving, snorkeling, eco tours, and beaches will leave visitors wanting more.
#3. Big Pine Key
Along with the natural parks, beautiful white sand beaches and activities such as snorkeling, scuba diving, boating, fishing , there is a unique sight to see -- The National Key Deer Rescue. Here you can see the endangered and very adorable wild deer known as Key deer, a type of white-tailed deer about the size of a large dog.

he quaint place in the keys, Marathon encompasses the islands of Long Key, the Conch Keys, Duck Key, Grassy Key, Boot Key, Crawl Key and Pigeon Key. Along with these many different localities known for their great restaurants, Marathon is well renowned for it’s fishing. Another sight to see is Seven Mile Bridge, which separates Marathon from the lower Florida Keys and was one of the longest bridges in the world at the time of its construction

With its great mix of history and beaches, no trip to the Keys is complete without a visit to Key West. Beyond it's many outdoor pursuits, Key West lays claim to many interesting artifacts, with several museums scattered throughout the island. Duval Street is a particularly energetic area with its great dining and nightlife and is also popular among souvenir shoppers. The island was once a vacation destination for such notables as Ernest Hemingway, Tennessee Williams, and President Harry S.Truman.
